How to request and terminate SOS | GeoFamily
1. How tracker app user requests SOS.
Tracker app users can request SOS to controller app user in one of two ways:
When the tracker app user requests SOS, the tracker's location information and structural information such as the reason for the SOS request are sent unconditionally at every time interval set by the controller user in [Location Reporting Time Interval] until the SOS situation ends. With the information, the controller app user can immediately perform rescue actions.
(1) Tracker app users use the [SOS] menu button
If you run the tracker app and press the [SOS] menu button to select a request reason and execute it, SOS request will be sent to the controller app user and SOS mode will start.
(2) Using the power key on the side of the tracker app user's phone
In a pressing situation where the tracker app user does not have time to launch the app, an SOS request will be sent to the controller app user and SOS mode will start by pressing the power key on the side of the phone several times in quick succession.
Whether the SOS request has been sent can be immediately sensed by a ringing vibration.
⚫ If the tracker app user presses the power key 5 times in quick succession, the SOS request message content will be selected as "Urgent! Call me immediately." to send the SOS request, and SOS mode will start.
⚫ If the tracker app user presses the power key 8 times or more in quick succession, the SOS request message content will be selected as "Help me! I am in a situation that I cannot receive calls, so consider contacting the police." to send the SOS request, and SOS mode will start.
In order to use this power key, there are functions that the tracker app user must set in advance as follows.
★ Enable the [SOS Request Function By POWER Key] setting in the [Tracker Settings] menu of the tracker app.
★ For the smartphone that can set the power key to other phone operating modes, disable the mode. For example, in the case of a Samsung Galaxy phone, depending on the model, set [Advanced Features] > [Send SOS Messages] > [Off] in the phone's settings, or [Advanced Features] > [Side Button] > [Double Press] must be disabled.
2. How to terminate the SOS situation.
(1) The controller app user terminates the SOS situation:
Terminate the SOS situation using the [Request SOS Cancellation] toolbar menu on the app's map screen.
(2) The tracker app user terminates the SOS situation:
Run the app and press the [SOS] menu button again to end SOS.
